Snippets AI Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Snippets AI, a service designed to improve text expansion for developers, including features like automation flows, snippet management, and more. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Snippets AI's desktop application, website, and related services ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

To use Snippets AI, you must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account Registration

In order to access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to keep your account information up-to-date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will not:

  • Use the Service to transmit harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
  • Engage in activities that disrupt or interfere with the functionality of the Service.
  • Share your account with unauthorized third parties.

Snippets AI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

5. Subscription and Payments

Snippets AI offers the following subscription plans:

  • Pro Plan: $5.99 per seat per month
  • Team Plan: $11.99 per seat per month

All plans are billed monthly on a per-seat basis. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the subscription fees as outlined for the selected plan. Payments are non-refundable, except as described in our separate Refund Policy.

We use Euro as the invoicing currency, as it is the standard currency of the European Union. Swedbank serves as our payment gateway. We display our service pricing in USD, and then convert it to Euro using Swedbank's official conversion rate to provide accurate prices to our customers.

If, for any reason, Swedbank's exchange rate service is unavailable, we apply a fixed conversion rate of 1.20.

7. California-Specific Provisions

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

If you are a resident of California, this section of the Terms applies to you in addition to the rest of the Terms.

  • Personal Information Collection: We may collect certain personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"). The information we collect may include your name, email address, payment information, and other relevant data necessary to provide our services.
  • Your Rights under CCPA: As a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
    • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share.
    • Right to Delete: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
    • Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. Please note that Snippets AI does not sell your personal information to third parties.
    • Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

  • Notice of Financial Incentive: We may offer financial incentives for certain actions, such as subscribing to our paid plans. These incentives will be subject to terms that are clearly disclosed, and participation is voluntary.

Shine the Light Law
California’s “Shine the Light” law provides California residents with the right to request information regarding the sharing of their personal data with third parties for direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident, you can request this information by contacting us at team@getsnippets.ai.

California Residents Under 18
If you are a California resident under the age of 18 and a registered user of our Service, you may request the removal of content that you have posted to our Service. If you would like to remove such content, please contact us at team@getsnippets.ai.

8. Data Privacy and Security

We take the privacy of your data seriously. By using Snippets AI, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

9. Intellectual Property

Snippets AI owns all intellectual property rights to the Service, including any software, designs, trademarks, and content. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms.

10. User Content and Data Control

10.1 Ownership of Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content and data you create, upload, or store in Snippets AI ("Your Content"). This includes but is not limited to snippets, prompts, automation flows, files, and any other materials you submit to the Service.

10.2 Platform Control and Access

While you own Your Content, Snippets AI retains control over the platform and infrastructure that stores and provides access to Your Content. Access to Your Content requires an active paid subscription. Snippets AI does not offer a free plan or free tier. All features and data access require a valid paid subscription.

10.3 No Obligation Without Payment

Snippets AI is under no obligation to maintain, store, or provide access to Your Content without an active paid subscription. We reserve the right to:

  • Restrict or suspend access to Your Content if your subscription is not active
  • Manage, backup, and store Your Content as necessary for platform operations
  • Delete Your Content after applicable grace and retention periods if payment is not received

10.4 Data Access and Retention Upon Non-Payment

If your subscription payment fails or you cancel your subscription:

  • Grace Period (Days 1-7): You will have a 7-day grace period during which we will attempt to process payment. During this period, you retain full access to the Service and Your Content.
  • Suspension (Day 7): If payment is not received after the grace period, your access to the Service and Your Content will be immediately suspended. You will not be able to access, retrieve, or use Your Content.
  • Retention Period (Days 8-37): Your Content will be retained on our servers for an additional 30 days after suspension, but will remain inaccessible to you. During this period, you may reactivate your subscription by completing payment, at which point full access will be restored.
  • Permanent Deletion (Day 37+): If payment is not received within 37 days of the initial payment failure, Your Content will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. No recovery will be possible after deletion.

10.5 Data Export Rights

You may request a copy of Your Content for export purposes. Export requests are subject to the following conditions:

  • Export requests can only be initiated during an active subscription or during the 7-day grace period
  • Export requests are processed within 60 days of the request
  • If your account is suspended or Your Content is deleted before export processing is complete, the export may not be fulfilled
  • To ensure successful completion of an export request, you must maintain an active paid subscription throughout the processing period

10.6 Voluntary Account Termination

If you voluntarily cancel your subscription or delete your account:

  • You will retain access to Your Content until the end of your current billing period
  • After the billing period ends, Your Content will be retained for 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • After 30 days, Your Content will be permanently deleted

10.7 Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to Your Content. The Service and Your Content may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience resulting from inability to access Your Content, whether due to non-payment, technical issues, or other factors.

11. AI-Generated Content and Limitations

10.1 AI Model Limitations

Snippets AI integrates with third-party AI models (including OpenAI, Mistral, Deepgram, and others). You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI models may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information (commonly known as "hallucinations").
  • AI outputs may reflect biases present in training data, including but not limited to biases related to race, gender, religion, age, or other protected characteristics.
  • AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be factually correct, legally compliant, or suitable for any particular purpose.

10.2 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use.
  • Ensuring that your use of AI outputs complies with all applicable laws.
  • Not relying on AI outputs for critical decisions without independent verification.

10.3 No Professional Advice

AI-generated content provided through Snippets AI does not constitute:

  • Medical advice or diagnosis
  • Legal advice or representation
  • Financial advice or investment recommendations
  • Professional counseling or therapy
  • Any other form of professional services

Always consult with qualified professionals for specialized advice.

10.4 Prohibited AI Use Cases

You may not use Snippets AI or AI integrations for:

  • Automated decision-making that significantly affects individuals' rights (employment, credit, housing) without human oversight
  • Creating deepfakes or impersonating real individuals without consent
  • Generating content intended to deceive, defraud, or harm others
  • Developing weapons, malware, or other harmful technologies
  • Any use prohibited by the AI provider's terms (OpenAI, Mistral, etc.)

10.5 Third-Party AI Providers

AI functionality is provided by third-party services. We do not control these services and are not responsible for:

  • AI model availability or uptime
  • Changes to AI model behavior or capabilities
  • AI provider terms of service changes
  • AI provider data practices

Your use of AI features is subject to the respective AI provider's terms of service and acceptable use policies.

10.6 Export Control

Certain AI technologies may be subject to export controls under U.S. law and other jurisdictions. By using AI features, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are not located in a country subject to comprehensive sanctions (currently: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, or Crimea/Donetsk/Luhansk regions).
  • You are not on any government denied party list (e.g., OFAC SDN List).
  • You will not use AI features for prohibited end uses (weapons development, surveillance of protected groups, etc.).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access from restricted territories without notice.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by Snippets AI

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for:

  • Violations of these Terms
  • Non-payment of subscription fees
  • Actions that are harmful to Snippets AI, its users, or the integrity of the Service
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Violations of applicable laws or regulations

12.2 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at team@getsnippets.ai or through the account settings in the Service.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination of your account (whether voluntary or involuntary):

  • Your access to the Service will be immediately revoked (subject to grace periods for payment-related issues as described in Section 10.4)
  • Your Content will be handled in accordance with Section 10 (User Content and Data Control)
  • You remain responsible for any outstanding subscription fees or charges incurred prior to termination
  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including but not limited to Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (User Content and Data Control), 12 (Indemnification), 13 (Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability), and 14 (Governing Law)

12.4 No Refunds Upon Termination

Termination of your account does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid, except as expressly provided in our Refund Policy.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Snippets AI, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:

  1. Your use or misuse of the Service
  2. Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law
  3. Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other proprietary rights
  4. Any content you create, upload, share, or transmit through the Service
  5. Your breach of any representations or warranties made herein
  6. Any damage caused to any third party by your use of AI features or AI-generated content

This indemnification obligation will survive termination of your account and these Terms.

We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claims.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • Disclaimers: The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snippets AI’s liability for any claims, damages, or losses is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the past 12 months.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia. Any disputes arising out of these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration, except for claims related to intellectual property, which may be brought in a court of law.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. By continuing to use the Service after changes are made, you accept the new Terms.
