The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment. You’ll design, build, and ship production systems that power AI-driven healthcare workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with ML scientists, product managers, and clinical advisors to deliver reliable, secure, and human-centered software.
What you’ll do
Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting AI/ML features in clinical workflows
Build robust, secure integrations with EHRs and healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR/HL7), with an eye toward privacy and compliance
Partner with ML engineers on MLOps: model serving, monitoring, evaluation, and drift detection
Write high-quality, well-tested code; participate in code reviews, technical design, and documentation
Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud infrastructure (CI/CD, containers, orchestration)
Collaborate cross-functionally to translate user and clinical needs into product features
Contribute to engineering best practices, architecture decisions, and a culture of continuous improvement
What you’ll bring
3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent impact) building production systems
Strong proficiency in one or more of: Python, Go, or TypeScript; experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Solid grasp of data modeling, event-driven systems, and CI/CD workflows
Commitment to security, privacy-by-design, and software quality (testing, monitoring, observability)
Clear communication, empathy, and a collaborative mindset
Bonus points
Experience in healthcare data, EHR integrations, FHIR/HL7, HIPAA/PHI safeguards, or regulated environments
Familiarity with ML tooling and workflows (TensorFlow/PyTorch, scikit-learn, MLflow, Feast, Airflow)
Frontend experience (React) or mobile development
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), event streaming (Kafka/Pub/Sub), or feature flagging/experimentation
Interest in model interpretability, bias mitigation, and clinical safety
